Quincy

Quincy has been involved in dogs since they day he was born. Of course...he IS a dog!

The "Q," as he's affectionately known, was born on September 11th 2001, which influenced the choice of his name. You will find him currently listed as BIS Intl/AKC CH. Cachalot's Made in the USA, CGC, RA, TT, HRD, AACR. More titles to come, as "The Q" would settle for nothing less!

Quincy (after Quincy M.E. the TV Series) achieved his first level Human Remains Detection certification by the age of 9 months and his AKC and International Championship by just over a year! Grand though that is, he couldn't stop there...he works several days per week in the Kansas City area as a therapy dog specializing in work with children.

For fun, Quincy travels the KC area searching out great activities for dogs accompanied by his entourage, who live to serve.

Nicki

When Nicki was growing up, she didn't have brothers and sisters, but had dogs to play with and call her siblings. So, to her, it is only natural to always have at least one dog around. While in college, her interests in dogs took a different approach. She began training them for search and rescue (SAR) work and that eventually evolved to include therapy work and crisis response work. Through her experiences with the dogs in SAR and therapy, she spent a great deal of time traveling with them, going to presentations, trainings, and it became un-natural to not have one with her.

The idea of this Web site, was born through her many travels with the dogs as well as long, late night talks with the rest of the Pack. It has taken many hours of research, work and travel to bring it to life. But, she feels that is has been worth the effort to be able to share the experiences of the Pack with the public.

Alice

Alice and Herc

Alice, the ChowHound, has loved animals it seems like forever. There has always been at least one four-legged friend in her home. Strays and wild creatures find their way into her life also. If it's not a turtle getting rescue from crossing the road, it's the stray cats knowing where to get a good meal at her front door. Mind you, some of the neighbor's cats have picked up on the free food cafe also and make frequent visits with insistent meows at the door.

She currently dotes on one dog, two cats, a three-year old son and her husband. Tuppence, a two year old German Shorthaired Pointer, is a recent acquisition, She is a an autism service dog for her son, Evan. Tuppence is currently expanding her knowledge to learn how to assist Evan, which includes, providing safety while walking in public, calming Evan in a stressful environment, and training with Evan in some of his therapy sessions at the hospital. Evan learns cause and effect concepts and improves his language skills as he gives instructions to Tuppence. No doubt, we will hear more about Tuppence and her successes with Evan in our blog.

One of her other passions is food. She has been dubbed many names by her friends who have shared a bite or ten at her home – Martha, Julia, food diva, hostess with the most-est, etc. She has attended JCCC's Culinary Program, was a personal chef, and reads all the text in her collection of MANY cookbooks. Cuisines of many styles and cultures inspire her recipes. So when asked to participate with Dogs Life KC, she jumped at the chance.

Cuisine with a canine – is a match made in heaven.
